Thyran Wildlife

Sharp-toothed and ravenous to the marrow, the garanna fish inhabit the world-encircling Aegir Sea, particularly in the warm eastern coastlines of the Spelheim desert. Dangerous to catch and time-consuming to prepare, they are nonetheless a well sought-out delicacy and hunters are paid well for their ripe meat. Its small, sharp bones are also made use on the various saurian scaali tribal jewelry. The garanna fish generally hunt in large packs. Thus, they can quickly bring down their often-careless prey in their weight of numbers.

While they are mostly found near the warm coastal areas, some pod have nonetheless made their way into the underground temples or sunken shrines inland via underground rivers, presenting an unseen woe to any explorers. Most specimen grow to 30-35cm in overall size, though some larger variations have been sighted.

SV-x medium pulse cannon (Original configuration)

T1-A Shira is a class of a feline personal aircraft, adopted to the military use early at Great Race War.

The origin of a personal aircraft made the T1-A ideal for a combat conversion. The ship was outfitted with a medium pulse cannon and a simple fire control system. With these modifications completed, she was quickly reined for a combat use. As an added advantage, the pilots were already familiar with the craft due to its popular background use as a civilian craft.

The pilot controls the craft from a sitting position with a central console at front and throttle/control joystick at their sides.  Wings are designed to transform in variable configurations from level to "X" and to "H" The wing-mounted dual stabilizers provide the ship with lift. They also increase the flight stability. Thrust is provided by a single rear engine. This assured that the ship was agile and relatively fast. The design of the aircraft mirrors the pilot's survival as an integral part of its military. Due to this, the cockpit is designed to detach and function as a self-contained escape pod in the event the craft becomes uncontrollable.

History

The T1-A series enjoyed a widespread use by the feline populations before the war, ensuring a swift transition to its military role as an attack fighter.

The Shira was adopted during the Battle of Midgård. First armed models were preset and deployed from underground cargo elevators to the surface, allowing chosen pilot groups to immediately engage the enemy. The first squadron, designated Knave Team prevented many of the Canine Transports from escaping city. They also successfully destroyed many Temple Cruisers. Afterwards, the vehicle was massively converted into a military use, becoming a staple for the Matriarchal Feline Navy.

MAR-A2 Pulse Rifle is the standard service weapon issued to the feline soldiers. It is an energy-based weapon. The rifles uses phase transition to collect moisture from the surrounding air and convert into a state of plasma. The plasma is pressured in a containment chamber that discharges the plasma through the barrel in controlled pulses. Superhot plasma pulse then follows a guidance laser to its target, keeping it from dissipating too quickly. The Rifle also has a targeting scope and a magnetic rail. The rail is used for securely attaching it into an armour plating. Due to the phase transition process used to collect the "ammunition", the rifle requires a heat sink, power pack and atmospheric water collector to gather the moisture.

Pulse Rifles were built in secret by Skuld, in a preparation for the Great Race War. The first batches of these rifles were very covertly distributed among many of the sealed medical pods strewn across Midgård. There they would stay out of sight until needed for. When the Great Race War began, these pods sprung up and opened. The eager loyalists were then easily armed with its firepower.

History

Jotunheim is the ancient homeland of the canine race. Having laid untouched for ages, the local wildlife has since overtaken the land. The fauna now consists entirely of the wild beasts, such as the ice gryphons. These wild gryphons in particular have formed their own settlements in the frozen mountain caves.

The yggdrasil crystals are at their most abundant in Jotunheim. Past attempts by the Raven Syndicate to exploit the precious resource have failed. This is due to a lack of personnel and more permanent mining facilities.

Under the primal mercy of its elements, most of the Jotunheim is covered by vast central mountain ranges. These mountains extend well into her northern shorelines. Two largely habitable tundras spread unto her western and eastern borders. Its southern and northern shorelines are jagged and broken, having weathered centuries of waves. This comes as the result of a near-eternal ice age and the subsequent erosion that followed.

History

Out of nowhere, the land was suddenly afflicted by a terrible plague. Fearful of the disease, the canines were forced to leave their homes in the great exodus to the west. This event became known as the First Canine Exodus.

Having fled away the felines of Vanaheim in a second exodus, the canine-kind once again resettles into the mountainous shelter of their former homeland.

Andlang Citadel is the residence of the matriarch and the center of the ruling Feline Matriarchate. Also called the Citadel Tower, it watches over the city of Midgård from its highest tip. Thus, the spire is its most famous landmark and the greatest symbol of Feline Matriarchate's reach.

The Spire's internal areas hold many grand receptions and public services, such as the famous medical facility "Volusia Genecare". Yet, they are also made to conceal many of the Matriachate's most vital secrets. This includes a secure underground bio-research facility and black site for the Matriarch Skuld's experiments. The laboratory is also the site of the weekly "Breakout" survival game brodcasts.

History

The Citadel Tower hosted an annual "Aggregation of Freya's Love". The aggregation is an open forum, which summons together the world leader to discuss agreements, curry favour and ultimately, to pry one another.

Crystal Guard raids the Citadel Tower during the onset of the Battle of Midgård, in an effort to confiscate the fabled Spear of Gungnir. Matriarch's loyalists managed to repel the assault and clear out the citadel.

The searing desert realm of Spelheim covers much of the central Thyra. Bulk of the great desert's habitation is focused around the various oasis enclaves and dusty villages. This is especially true to its eastern coastline, with its crown jewel being the coastal capital city of Wadjet.

History

The great desert is the original home to the saurian race, who have long since scattered across the world. They've only left behind tombs and sandy ruins. Memorials, that now that contain any valuable knowledge for those who dare to delve into the hidden vaults beneath the sands.

Canines, that managed to escape Vanaheim regroup at the shelter of the desert. While some of refugees look to settle in to the neutral zone, others are only there to restock supplies and continue their way towards Jotunheim.

Sand Gryphon

The gryphon is the most numerous of all the indigenous wildlife on Thyra. Numerous breeds of them exist from the tunnelling sand gryphons of Spelheim, to the winged ice gryphons of Jotunheim. The largest of the breed is the massive colossal- type. The smallest breed is known as the mini gryph and fits neatly into a person's pocket.

Many of them are mildly intelligent. Although officially classed as animals, they able to understand the basic thyranese speech. Few of them are even able to speak. These abilities, along with their superior eyesight makes them adept spies. The gryphons have a tendency to develop an obsession to jewels and will stop at nothing to hoarding them. Gryphs are used to perform various everyday roles in the thyran society. Their tasks range from the ceremonial duties to being mundane pets.

History

Despite being revered by many ibis as their ancestors, the felines and canines in general have little care to such beliefs. Many of the Gryphons have since been weaponized for the great race war. These war gryphons are encased in a set of customized body armour modules. They are armed with low-yield repeater cannons on their backs. To protect the incredibly vital senses of ocular hearing and vision, their combat helmets come equipped with polarized lenses and ear coverings.

Races of Thyra

The Aesir (Aesirarchy) are an ancient race of vanished Thyran deities. Before the onset of the Great Race War, the felines, canines and saurians each possessed their own chief guardian god, Kagutsutchi, Tsukiyomi and Hoori respectively. In addition, an unnamed Fourth One existed at one time of the world. Hoori of the original three disappeared early at some point in time, while taking a portion of his Ibis-kind to the legendary floating island of Alfheim.

The worship of the race has been banned by the Feline Matriarchate, judging all transgressors to the mandatory "re-socialization" process and following that, a reintegration back into the feline society. Despite the measures to cull these acts, the radical Crystal Guard cultist continue to secretly worship the Aesir race. Their practices include old worship rites and include religious blood rituals as well as the soul sacrifices known as blót. The blót also includes a large feast to honour the offering.

History

The deities were only seldomly seen, preferring to operate through Crystal Guard agents or other proxies. Many sculptures and statues however, were fashioned in their name as to remind the population of their continued presence.

Saurian(s) represent the third of the Thyra's most powerful races, with the other two being the Canines and the Felines. The rule of the race is one of a struggle between the queen Qetesh and the king Ra. The generally accepted ruler is the queen Qetesh. She holds her court at the Royal city of Wadjet.

Generally inhabiting the central desert of Spelheim and its southern marshlands, they generally prefer to avoid attention to themselves. Still, many have coiled their talent to become traveling merchants. The haughty felines of Vanaheim for instance, have grown to love their exotic craft. Some also make their living in enterntainment, performing to forms of dance and music. The most daring people have also found work as mercenaries in the Great Race War. The Ibis are famous for their sleek airship designs, sharing many similarities with the feline designs. The sand gryphons are revered as the distant ancestors of the Ibis Saurians.

Saurians are divided into several groups alongside the avian Ibis. This includes the serpentine Nagai and the Scaali lizards. The Ibis are based on the Desert of Spelheim. Nagai and Scaali tribes inhabit the woodlands and swamps south of the Great Desert.

History

Like canines and felines, the saurianese too lived in relative peace with one another. As the Great Race War begun in earnest however, several of its members saw it as a means of profit. And thus, many of them became mercenaries and bounty hunters for the opposing sides of the conflict.

Canines are a hardened, migratory race of survivors from the eastern Realm of Jotunheim.

The Canines are not natural soldiers, but creative builders and scavengers. They lack the means to build many advanced weapons, such as mechs. Thus, they mainly resort to an improvised kinetic guns and wanton thievery. What the race don't have in finesse, they make it up with their numbers and willpower. They are innate scavengers and thus, have the ability to engineer a simple hardware from almost anything. That being, is their main strength against the Feline Matriarchate's technological prowess. As an example of their adaptive nature, the transport ships they use are generally made out of a scavenged scrap metal.

The canine race is divided into several main breeds. The large Basal are the heavy haulers. Vulpini get by as scouts and technicians. The Lupus will fill the gap as the frontline rebels and workers.

History

Canine-kind were made to flee their homeland to escape a ravaging plague, in what became known as the First Canine Exodus. Having arrived to the west, they sought aid from the felines of Vanaheim. Pleading help from Skuld, she agreed to devise a first temporary cure. After the population was healed, they were allowed to stay and were given a portion of Midgård as their new home. The refugees secretly pilfered scrapyards to pile together a fleet of airships, should they ever need to leave.

As the Great Race War suddenly fell upon Thyra, the canines found themselves pursued once more. Not to be stopped, the canines left Midgård and other settlements in force, all the while being pursued by Matriarch's agents. While on the run towards east, the fleeing crowds of desperate canines ransacked rural communities for supplies. Aside retreating to Jotunheim, some groups left south towards the Iron Woods of Jarnvidr.
